Trust Stableford Competition
21 May 2007
Last year the EWGA Trust requested that all Lady Captains to help raise funds for the EWGA Trust, by nominating one of their club summer stableford competitions as the ‘Trust Stableford Competition’.
Participating clubs raised an additional £4,000, which will be used to help girls under 21 or those in full time education with their coaching and competition expenses and essential items of equipment.
The Trust, once again, is appealing for Lady Captains to nominate one of their summer stableford competitions to be the ‘Trust Stableford Competition’
In order to find out how much money to send add up the points of the top ten scores and then multiply every point by 2p.
It will be up to each Lady Captain to decide how the money is raised, they may wish to charge a little more for the competition or just take it from funds. Whichever method is chosen, it really will not cost very much (if the top ten scores average 36 points then it will only amount to little over £7). However, if every club in England takes part, that’s a lot of money for the Trust.
There would also be a further incentive; the club who scores the highest points will, at the next Annual General Meeting, win a laptop computer and receive a memento in recognition of their efforts.
Remember the girls who are helped by the Trust are not the elite players but those who are just beginning their golf and need a little help along the way.
